PROJECT | a product and the packaging it hangs out in
They said "classy Baylor stationery" and I immediately thought "gold foil on bright white paper," obviously. The rest came together fairly seamlessly. We wanted something that would be versatile (a thoughtful handwritten letter, a fancy congratulations, joyful Christmas wishes, etc.) Thus, the idea of illustrating the Baylor skyline within the silhouette of the bear was born. Pure school spirit, while fitting within their existing brand. I took on the responsibility of front end production-- everything from the card design and printing, to the package design and assembly. Then I handed the products off to be sold and distributed through Dapper Bear Clothiers. This collaboration has been such a fun learning experience for me. I love the process-- seeing sketches and ideas come to life and become tangible, shiny products that make real life money. If you're a Baylor fan, or if you know any Baylor fans, you'll want to grab a set or two. Head over to Dapper Bear's online shop to shop for a single card or a set of 8.
Dapper Bear Clothiers was started in 2013 by my friend Jackson Wren, along with two of his classmates, as part of a Baylor Entrepreneurship course. Their first products showcased the official Baylor plaid, and since then they have expanded to offer an array of classy Baylor apparel and products. Currently, Jackson and his twin brother Eric, run the business together while both pursuing masters degrees.
Eric and Jackson, thanks for wanting to do this with me. Y'all are the best.
